Group Charity Cushions

Guidance for Group Charity Cushion Making

  1. Remember the cushions are for the hospital to use as prizes or for sale.

  2. The finished, worked area is to be 18 inches with at least half an inch un-worked seam allowance extra all around to fit an 18-inch cushion pad, this can be provided.

  3. The suggestion is that you work on a 20 inch panel to allow for any ‘shrinkage’ as you work and to be able to stitch it to the cushion cover.

  4. If you prefer to provide all of your own materials as a donation and make the complete cushion envelope style is easiest.

  5. Please use the picture as a basis to interpret the floral theme. Feel free to enlarge the picture, extract elements from it, reimagine the colours, no holds barred!

  6. Any sewing/textile method may be used.

  7. We will need the completed design work by the July meeting in order to be able to finish the cushions before the September meeting. (Don't forget there is no August meeting!) Help with this will be much appreciated!

Please will you let Doff know by the 29th March if you would prefer to provide all or some of the materials i.e. cushion pad and/or fabric to make the whole cover to enable us to order sufficient materials.
